Letter From the 2012 Chairman.
DEAR COMMUNITY,
The 3rd annual Aircraft Airworthiness & Sustainment Conference will be convening in Baltimore, Maryland on April 2-5, 2012. As Chairman, it is my distinct pleasure to invite you and your colleagues to this year's AA&S Conference which is jointly sponsored by the FAA, DOD and NASA and is widely attended by members of industry and academia from around the world.
It’s an exciting time for our aviation industry as witnessed by Boeing’s first delivery of the 787, the continued growth of the Airbus A380 numbers, NASA’s plans to use commercial space vehicles, and the DOD’s purchase of commercial aircraft variants to replace many of their aging aircraft fleet. This conference provides the opportunity to discuss the safety and sustainment issues of our legacy fleets, the airworthiness issues of our future aircraft and the transition between the old and new fleets.
The AA&S 2012 conference will be held at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. You’ll enjoy spectacular views of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, with easy access to some of the city's finest shopping and restaurants. The Marriott’s meeting spaces are outstanding and will provide the opportunity for an excellent conference.
On behalf of the 2012 AA&S Conference Committee, I look forward to seeing you in Baltimore in April.
Paul Swindell
2012 AA&S Chairman
